Provide a Gift to Senior Access

For 30 years Senior Access has been the key charity serving the needs of frail elders and other adults with chronic care needs in Marin County. A gift to Senior Access will make an important difference for Marin seniors experiencing frail health, and who are in need of care.  We provide over 16,000 days of care service each year for the frail in Marin County.  Your gift will help support our programs that are so important in keeping our elders healthy and independent.

Senior Access is a 501(c)(3) charity and gifts provided are tax deductible.

You may request that your gift be used specifically for one of our service program sites, or for specific purposes such as scholarships to attend our centers.  You may also provide your gift in honor or in memory of someone special and we will send an acknowledgment to his or her family, notifying them of your thoughtful gift.  We will always provide a letter of appreciation for your gift that is acceptable documentation for charitable gifts under IRS regulations.

Stocks and Other Securities
One of the easiest ways to make a gift to Senior Access may also have substantial tax advantages for you.  The gift of appreciated securities, including stocks and bonds, is a way to increase the scope of your gift while providing a tax savings to you.  There is no capital gains tax on the increased value of the security, and it often substantially increases the value of the gift.  You can take an income tax charitable deduction equal to the full current value of the security up to 30% of your adjusted gross income.  For mutual fund shares, the deduction is equal to the "bid price."

Vehicle Donations
We accept donations of cars, trucks, RVs or boats in working condition and would be pleased to provide information on how to make arrangements for this tax-deductible gift.

United Way
You may designate Senior Access as your charity on the United Way Bay Area Certified Community and Federal Campaign.  Our designation number is 5038.

Company Matching Gifts
Many companies match employee charitable gifts, increasing the value of your contribution.  Simply enclose your company's matching gift form, and we will complete the paperwork.

Planned Gifts
Thoughtful estate management and planning can secure greater independence for you and your family, and help Senior Access.

Charitable Bequests
Bequests are the most common form of planned gifts.  Becoming a member of our Legacy Society with a gift to Senior Access through your will is an easy way to provide support and commitment to Marin seniors in need.  You may remember Senior Access in your will in a variety of ways.  Your attorney can advise you on the simple process of making Senior Access a part of your will and the tax advantages it provides.

Gifts of Insurance
You may give all or part of an existing life insurance policy simply by asking your agent for a "Change of Beneficiary" form and use it to designate Senior Access as a beneficiary.  You are allowed a charitable income tax deduction for the full cash replacement value of the policy.

Charitable Trusts
If you set aside cash, stock, real estate or vacant land in a charitable trust for Senior Access, you can receive income from that property for the rest of your life, enjoy the immediate income tax deduction, and fully avoid the capital gains tax.  You can also give a percentage of an asset to our charitable trust.  The results are immediate cash to you now and lifetime income from your trust.

Mill Valley Market "Shop and Give" Program
Senior Access has been designated as a registered charity with Mill Valley Market -- Mill Valley's finest gourmet and independent grocery store. Through their "Shop and Give" program, friends and supporters of Senior Access can easily help Marin elders and their families.

Here's how the "Shop and Give" program works. When shopping at Mill Valley Market, tell the checker you have selected Senior Access as your favorite charity (our number is 7083). Mill Valley Market will then donate 3% of the total receipt to Senior Access. That's all there is to it! No need to sign-up, carry a card or sign anything, and it costs nothing. With no administrative fees, Senior Access will receive 100% of your donation.

Mill Valley Market is located at 12 Corte Madera Avenue in Mill Valley. The are open Monday through Saturday from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, Sundays 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.

These are just a few of the many ways a planned gift will benefit you and Senior Access at the same time.
